Fareham Schools Guide: Primary, Secondary & Admissions
Primary, junior, infant and secondary schools in Fareham borough by area, with Fareham College, how applications work and the deadlines for September 2027 entry.
Where are the schools in Fareham borough?
Fareham borough has a mix of infant, junior, all-through primary and secondary schools run by Hampshire County Council, church bodies and academy trusts. The list below is grouped by area and each school's address was checked against its Ofsted provider page, which shows Hampshire as the local authority. It is a guide to what is nearby, not a complete register, so use the government's Get information about schools service to check anything missing.

What do Ofsted reports say?
Since September 2024 Ofsted has not made a single overall effectiveness judgement for state-funded schools, and its own provider pages say so. Reports now give separate judgements, so a school may no longer have a one-word grade. The outcomes below are as shown on the Ofsted page, with the inspection date, which is not the same as the publication date.
Portchester Community School was inspected on 30 January 2024 and was judged Good overall, with Outstanding for personal development. Brookfield Community School was inspected on 11 March 2025 and was judged Good for quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, and leadership and management, and Outstanding for personal development, with no overall grade. Cams Hill School's last graded inspection was on 22 October 2019 (Good); it was inspected again on 3 December 2024, with the report published on 14 January 2025. Fareham Academy (3 February 2026), The Henry Cort Community College (20 January 2026) and Crofton School (3 March 2026) all have reports published in 2026, so read those reports directly on Ofsted for the wording. For primary schools, search each school's name on reports.ofsted.gov.uk.
What are the sixth form and college options?
Fareham College is at Bishopsfield Road, Fareham, PO14 1NH, and is now one of three locations in South Hampshire College Group, alongside Eastleigh College and Southampton College. Its group website lists 16 to 19 full-time study, higher education and apprenticeships. The group's website lists a Fareham College open event on 15 October (check the site for the time and to book). Check the course list on the college site before you apply. Check each school's own website for sixth form places.
How do school applications work?
You apply through your local council, and GOV.UK sets the national timetable. For primary school the closing date is 15 January and offers go out on 16 April. For secondary school you must apply by 31 October and offers go out on 1 March. For September 2027 entry that means the secondary closing date is 31 October 2026, which is only weeks away, and the primary closing date is 15 January 2027. If a date lands on a weekend or bank holiday, offers are sent the next working day. Applying late makes it less likely you will be offered your chosen school.
Schools can give priority by distance, siblings already at the school, faith for church schools and other criteria, as GOV.UK explains. All state-funded schools must give top priority to children who are or were in care. Hampshire County Council publishes its admission arrangements, its coordinated scheme for 2027/28 and how catchment or designated areas apply to your address, so check the council's education pages for your own address.
